Dinner hosted on Jan 9^th is my Annual Event and should not be misinterpreted in any way

Due to some twist being given to an innocuous New Year Dinner hosted by me on Saturday January 9^th, 2016 as a “Show of Strength” in some Media Reports, I wish to clarify that this dinner is an Annual dinner organized since last 15 years in the first or second week of January for Party Leaders, Workers, friends from the Media, Municipal, Police and Government officials with whom we interact regularly for serving the People. Therefore this should not be interpreted as “Competition” with any other Leader or Group or as a “Show of Strength”. I don’t need to prove myself to anyone or any group that feels so.

Invitations are always extended to the Guests from the above mentioned Categories, however some have their prior Commitments, some are out of Station, and some are unable to make it. But by and large majority of the Invitees were present and I take this opportunity to thank them for attending.

In fact, on Mr Sanjay Nirupam’s invitation I attended a dinner at the MCA ground at Bandra-Kurla Complex yesterday (Jan 10^th) evening without any hesitation.
